May 8, 2012

The Estonian Folk Culture Centre is happy to announce that language courses conducted by language teachers Ly Leedu and Katrin Golovanova from Multilingua Language School in the framework of a 4-year cooperation project were very popular: “We need more language courses like that."

From 2008 to 2012 the Estonian Folk Culture Centre was the partner of the Estonian Non-formal Adult Education Association in the programme “Adult Training in Non-formal Education Centres“ financed by the European Social Fund and the Estonian government. In the framework of this project Estonian language courses, aimed at members of cultural associations of ethnic minorities living in Estonia, were organized in cooperation with Multilingua Language School.

The Estonian Folk Culture Centre and Multilingua Language School concluded a cooperation agreement, and during the 4 years that followed Multilingua teachers Ly Leedu and Katrin Golovanova conducted Estonian language courses at the Centre for a total of 176 language learners in 12 study groups. Several people who completed the course went on to take the Estonian language proficiency exam at the National Examinations and Qualifications Centre. Based on feedback received from the Estonian Folk Culture Centre there was so much interest for these courses, that all prospective students could not be accommodated.
