Principles of Operational Quality Assurance
General provisions
1.1 The name of the training institution established by the Management Board of Multilingua Keelekeskus OÜ is Multilingua Language School and Competence Centre.
1.2 Multilingua Language School organizes adult language training courses and language teaching for children and schoolchildren.
1.3 Multilingua Competence Center offers training, development programs, supervision and coaching for education workers and companies.
Conditions and procedures for ensuring the quality of curriculums
2.1 The basis for preparation of curriculums of Multilingua Keelekeskus OÜ is the Adult Education Act and the Refresher Training Standard.
2.2 The curriculums are prepared with participation of language teachers, team developers and methodologists.
2.3 The curriculums are updated as necessary on an ongoing basis, and once a year with participation of language teachers, team developers and methodologists.
Conditions and procedures for ensuring the quality of teachers
3.1 The Multilingua Language School and Competence Center prepared the Educators’ Quality Standard, the Code of Ethics and the Rules of Conduct, which are the basis for assurance of the quality of teachers and training. Employees are familiarized with all above documents when commencing work with Multilingua within the framework of the onboarding program. All employees of the Multilingua Language School and Competence Center have a professional higher education and professional experience in adult education.
3.2 In order to ensure the quality of the study, regular refresher training is carried out. As least two times a month Multilingua conducts refresher training in digital competence, methodology, learning materials, psychology and educator’s personal development, as well as mental health and other topics. At least two times every half-year co-vision courses for educators are conducted. The annual autumn seminar in addition to participation of Multilingua’s own educators includes a presentation of an external lector and provides an overview of the goals and activity plans for the academic year. Every year in January a two-day winter academy for educators is conducted. Multilingua’s educators additionally participate in other methodology training courses as in Estonia, so abroad, including study mobility and job shadowing within the framework of Erasmus+ program. Multilingua has created positions of a methodologist, consultant and digital learning manager, which offer professional support to teachers. Also, all year round employees regularly participate in teacher development programs conducted in small groups.
3.3 The results of the work of an educator are assessed on the basis of the participants’ oral and written feedback questionnaire.
Conditions and procedures for ensuring the quality of the learning environment
4.1 All courses are available at the Multilingua Language School and Competence Center website at least one month before the start of the course. You can register for training through the registration form on the website. By registering, clients can define the most appropriate time periods for their course.
4.2 All registered people are individually contacted. Those wishing to register for the language course are directed to take an online language test or determine their language proficiency level on a 9-point quick-scoring scale located on the Multilingua Language School website.
4.3 All registered for the training receive information about the precise organization of the training – the schedule, training rooms and teaching materials, at the latest in the week preceding the beginning of the course.
4.4 A supportive learning environment has been created to conduct language training.
4.5 The Multilingua Language School and Competence Center training classrooms are located in Tallinn, Roosikrantsi 11, 2nd floor. All rooms meet health protection requirements. The classrooms have enough space and light for each learner. The classrooms are equipped with modern presentation techniques and Internet access. Rooms are wheelchair accessible.
4.6 In the Multilingua Language School and Competence Center drinking water, coffee, tea is available to all clients.
Procedure for collecting feedback for the continuing education
5.1 At the end of each course, participants submit an online or paper-based feedback that assesses the content of the training, their own development, teaching materials, learning methodology, the structure of classes (pace, atmosphere, comprehensiveness of explanations, etc.) for the educator’s work and the organizing part of the course and makes suggestions to improve the content and form of the study.
5.2 Feedback information is analyzed, its results discussed with educators and management. Once a year, a comprehensive analysis is conducted, which will be the basis for improving the organization of further study quality and organization of the work of the Language School and Competence Center. Once a year best educators receive an award.
