Teacher of French:

I am a French native speaker from Eastern France. I have been teaching French online for Multilingua since May 2024. Previously I managed one of Tallinn’s French conversation and cultural clubs. I welcome all types of students, whether young learners or mature adults, as well as all levels from complete beginners to advanced students. My lessons have a large cultural component to them. I use relevant reading materials from the French literary canon and introduce my students to French history, geography, philosophy and gastronomy.  

Teacher of English:

I am a native speaker of English from Canada with over 8 years’ experience teaching at various levels and in various formats. I have taught at the university level with large groups as well as in private institutes and individually online. I accept all students, from absolute beginners to advanced learners. I also teach all ages, from young children to mature adults 

I adapt my lessons to the needs of the students and use different methods depending on what they require. There is a large cultural and civilizational component to my lessons, students at more advanced levels can even learn about the history of the English language and the history of the Anglo-Saxon world’s legal and political institutions 

I use specific materials as props for conversation.  Adult lessons are often built around a prescient theme of current affairs, encouraging the learner to increase their vocabulary with the use of media articles or reports and using this new vocabulary in our conversations. As I was a legal advisor for many years, I also offer business and legal English lessons 

With young learners, there is a large onus on deep reading which I use as a vector for them to learn more vocabulary and to communicate their feelings and thoughts about a text in a secure environment. We use a range of reading materials from fiction (fantasy novels, children or young adult detective novels, adventure) and nonfiction reading materials, such as articles focusing on the environment, young adults’ relationship with media and technology, travel and adventure.
