I graduated from Tallinn Pedagogical University as an Estonian language teacher in Russian schools.
In the nineties, I went through all the obligatory careers for a young lady with a good command of the language at that time – real estate, marketing and tourism. I have additionally studied andragogy and hold a diploma in international business management. I obtained my Master’s degree at the University of Leuven in Belgium.
I have been teaching intensive Estonian language courses at Tallinn University for over fifteen years. I also work as a tour guide and my knowledge of Estonia helps me to introduce our culture to students.
I also use music and friendly humour in the language learning process. I am a perpetual learner and I am inspired by the progress I see in myself and in my students. I am in favour of needs-based teaching and empowering students.
I have been selected as a language learning spokesperson and have completed two levels of language coach training.
As I enjoy the process of language teaching, I believe that language learning is an adventure.
As an adult educator, I:
- identify the needs and expectations of the study group, prepare the training content and select the teaching methods based on the intended learning outcomes and previous feedback;
- create a physical, mental, and social environment conducive to language learning; base my approach on the learners’ needs and adapt learning stages or working methods as required;
- analyse the learning process, assess learners’ learning outcomes, and inform both the learner and the contact person at Multilingua about the results of the language learning;
- analyse and evaluate my own activities in the learning process; recognise my strengths and development needs; engage in continuous professional development; update training content and teaching methods, revising and modernizing them as needed;
- use relevant information and communication technology (ICT) tools (e.g., interactive smartboards, online platforms such as Zoom and/or Teams, ML information system, cloud services such as Google Drive and/or OneDrive, e-learning platforms, etc.) in the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of the teaching and learning process, as well as for supporting my own professional development.
I am a member of the Estonian Association of Teachers as a Second Language (EKTKÕL) and regularly participate in its training courses and seminars, also as a trainer.
I participated in the Erasmus+ training course “Game-Based Learning” in Dublin, Ireland, in 2025.
