In 2009, I graduated from the University of Tartu with a master’s degree and I am a teacher of Estonian language and literature in a non-Estonian school. I teach both primary and secondary school students and adults.
I came to Multilingua Language Centre in 2018 and I am very happy to work here.
I believe that learning and teaching a language needs to be accompanied by positive emotions in order for the language to be successfully acquired. In my lessons, I always use teaching methods aimed at active communication to encourage learners to speak more spontaneously.
I am also always grateful to my learners because they in turn ‘teach and guide’ me. Based on their needs, I try to improve and diversify the learning process so that the lessons are fun, positive, and effective. I also encourage students to keep their eyes and ears open so that they can make sense of the information around them with the knowledge they have acquired.
As an adult educator, I:
- plan the study objectives, learning outcomes, and training content; prepare, compile, and adapt learning materials based on the curriculum/training programme;
- create a physical, mental, and social environment conducive to language learning; base my approach on the learners’ needs and adapt learning stages or working methods as required; provide feedforward to learners;
- analyse the learning process, assess learner’s learning outcomes, and inform both the learner and the contact person at Multilingua about the results of the language learning;
- analyse and evaluate my own performance within the learning process; recognise my strengths and development needs; pay attention to my physical, mental, and emotional well-being, maintain a healthy work-life balance; engage in continuous professional development; update training content and teaching methods, revising and modernizing them as needed;
- use relevant information and communication technology (ICT) tools (e.g., interactive smartboards, online platforms such as Zoom and/or Teams, ML information system, cloud services such as Google Drive and/or OneDrive, e-learning platforms, etc.) in the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of the teaching and learning process, as well as for supporting my own professional development; am familiar with the possibilities of digital learning and can use appropriate methods for delivering digital learning in adult education.
I follow the EPALE Facebook page and read their newsletter/articles.
In 2025, I participated in an Erasmus+ learning mobility programme and completed a job-shadowing placement at a school in Estepona, Spain.
