Christopher Engel

I’m a CELTA-qualified teacher with a degree in Philosophy and over 14 years of international teaching experience. Having worked in a variety of countries, I bring a broad cultural perspective to the classroom and a flexible, student-centered approach to language learning.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in communication and personalization. I design each course around the individual needs and goals of my students, focusing on practical language use, including vocabulary and grammar, as well as the cultural aspects that make language meaningful and engaging. My goal is to help learners build real-world communication skills in a supportive,and  interactive environment.

As an adult educator, I: 

• develop and/or adapt curricula, prepare training content, and select appropriate teaching methods based on the intended learning outcomes and previous feedback;  

• base my approach on the learners’ needs, adapt learning stages or adjust teaching methods, when necessary, support learners, observe changes in their development, and respond to situations in the learning process in a supportive manner;  

• gather ongoing feedback from learners about the learning process; analyse the effectiveness of the training process, and assess learner’s learning outcomes; 

• engage in continuous professional development, update training content and teaching methods, revising and modernizing them as needed; reflect on and analyse my professional role and practice, and actively seek solutions when challenges arise; 

• use relevant information and communication technology (ICT) tools (e.g., smartboards, online platforms such as Zoom and/or Teams, ML information system, cloud services such as Google Drive and/or OneDrive, e-learning platforms, etc.) in the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of the teaching and learning process, as well as for supporting my own professional development; am familiar with the possibilities of digital learning and know how to use suitable methods for conducting digital learning in adult education. 

Teachers from abroad have visited and observed my classes.  

I have created learning materials for adults based on specific learning content, as well as introductory games and icebreakers suitable for language learning.
