I have been teaching Greek since 2000, both to private students and to smaller and larger groups. I started learning Greek at the Kapodistrian National University of Athens (1996-1997) then at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where I studied Theology as a Bachelor (1998-2002). Later I continued my studies at Tallinn University, obtaining a Master’s degree in Translation. Greek language and culture have been my daily companion both as a translator and as a guide, and teaching is one of the most enjoyable outlets of this interest. In recent years, I have also been offering basic Estonian language courses for adults, as my own experience abroad confirmed that language skills open the door to local life.
My goal is to bring a piece of everyday Greek life into my Greek lessons – that unique atmosphere that can only be felt locally and which has become very close to my heart over the years. There is no need to be afraid that Estonian difficult is – quite the opposite, learning it is an enjoyable journey that opens the door to a diverse and beautiful culture and offers the opportunity to interact directly with the warm and welcoming people who make Estonia special.
In our lessons, we focus on practical communication, although grammar cannot be ignored either. I am flexible in my choice of subjects, based on each student’s interests and goals – whether it is a desire to travel, communicate with locals, have a job-related need or simply have an interest in a new language and culture.
