Elena Naumova

Hello! My name is Elena Naumova.

I graduated from the St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University named after Herzen and the Narva College of the University of Tartu. I am a level 6 teacher for adult learners. I have extensive experience in pedagogy and andragogy, and in recent years I have worked as a teacher of Russian as a foreign language.

For me, language is not just a means of communication, but also a different way of thinking, a different worldview. A new language comes with another ​culture, by the studying of which, we also gain a deeper understanding of our own culture and language.

I try to form LANGUAGE PERSONS in my students, so I pay a lot of attention to understanding the language system. The use of interactive methods, various didactic games, and along with my optimistic worldview – all this helps me create a comfortable atmosphere in the classroom.

I developed an author course for beginners to learn Russian. I popularize the tandem method. I create and implement forms of learning where native speakers and language learners communicate, not only in peer groups, but also in groups with adult learners and children. I believe that adults cannot only teach children but also learn from them.

I have many hobbies – batik, pottery, making postcards. My hobbies help me to organize unusual Russian lessons, where students do handicrafts and learn the language.

In cooperation with the Multilingua Language Center, I teach Russian to children and adults in language immersion camps in Narva.

I have been living in Narva for 15 years. This is my family’s hometown. Come to Narva to learn Russian!
