Swedish has always fascinated me. it is, in fact, sort of exotic for us. My first experience with Swedish took place 25 years ago, when an exchange teacher from Karlskrona came to our school to teach Swedish. I caught the bug at once, and my goals fell into place.
I have been teaching Swedish for more than 20 years now, and I can say I have the best profession in the world. After graduating from secondary school I went on to study Swedish language and literature at Tallinn University, followed by the Umeå summer university and the courses organised by Riksföreningen Sverigekontakt. I have worked for a number of language schools, translation agencies, and, in addition, I have been teaching marine crews for 15 years. Sometmes you can see me as a guide of walking tours with Swedish tourists in the Old Town. My hobbies are playing the guitar and working as an instructor of endurance sports classes in a fitness club. I have been enjoying my work in Multilingua for the past 15 years.
We have always had close contact with Scandinavians, and the nature of the Swedish language is such that there is always plenty of fun and jokes in class. Imitating daily interactions in Swedish taking Swedish cultural peculiarities into account is sometimes very funny. And this is exactly my point in teaching language classes: learning a language should be fun, and then you will pick it up easer, too.
